Spyker C8 Aileron, officially unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show 2009, is one of the anxiously awaited cars in India. The second-generation supercar from Spyker underlines extended wheelbase, sleek aerodynamic design, capacious cabin and world-class luxury.
The upcoming car is a hand-crafted supercar, reflecting evolution of Spyker's styling, which is mainly inspired from company's aviation heritage. Human-Machine Interface (HMI) is another highlight explaining Spyker's brand values in the premium car, designed specifically for better interface in C8 Aileron.
A confluence between styling and functionality can be witnessed in the car. The cockpit canopy is extended for aerodynamic optimisation of performance. The shark-like gills of C8 Aileron's first edition have been removed for a cleaner and smoother appearance. Front fascia of the car provides a spectacular visual impact, allowing maximum flow of cooling air. Rear diffuser adds to the stability besides providing speed, provides additional downforce to boost the ground effect forces.
Engine and technical specifications of Spyker C8 Aileron
Spyker C8 Aileron is power-packed with a 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine for a high-revving performance. This powerful setup has a 90-degree angle block, 40 valves (five valves-per-cylinder, three intake and two exhaust) and variable valve timing. The highly responsive engine has a power churning capacity of 400 bhp at 6,800 rpm and maximum torque delivery of 480 Nm at just 3,500 rpm.
Performance of Spyker C8 Aileron
An excellent torque delivery, power delivery, and sleek aerodynamics make it a performer. Excellent power-to-weight ratio results in comprehensive acceleration. The supercar sprints from 0 to 100 kph in 4.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 300 kph. Stainless steel exhaust system is attuned to the engine for a noise-free acceleration. Moreover, sport mode exhaust system, ZF gearbox, aluminium paddle shift, advanced rigid-node, load-path technology, multi-adjustable suspension system and stiff aluminium space frame chassis streamlines the operation.

The propeller design of Spyker C8 Aileron explains a shift from propeller propulsion to turbine propulsion. Bright polished air inlets, usage of superformed aluminium body panels and modern LEDs are the contrasting exterior features.
