The Mitsubishi Colt is a compact hatchback model that is expected to enter in the Indian market by the end of year 2011. The Colt model is expected to be rolled out in the price bracket of Rs 6 to Rs 8 lakh, where it will be competing with the likes of Hyundai I20, Skoda Fabia and Honda Jazz. The availability of both diesel and petrol versions in the range will enable the Colt model to compete more promptly with its rivals in the country.
The Mitsubishi Colt model is expected to come loaded with a powerful 1.5 litre four cylinder engine in both diesel and petrol versions. Loaded with a number of advanced technological features, the Mitsubishi Colt model is expected to offer a tough fight to its competitors in the Indian market.
Mitsubishi currently sells a range of its vehicles in the Indian auto market such as mid size Cedia, premium sedan Lancer, Montero, sports utility vehicle Pajero & luxury SUV Outlander. The launch of Colt model will not only mark Mitsubishi's entry in the compact hatchback segment in India, but also strengthen company’s portfolio by generating high volumes in the rapidly growing hatchback market.
Engine & Specifications of the Mitsubishi Colt
The Colt model will come blessed with a powerful 1500cc engine that will be rolled-out in both petrol and diesel versions. Hosting four cylinders inside, the powerful engine of the Colt will be delivering a peak power of 70 Bhp along with a maximum torque of 210 Nm @ 1800 RPM.The Colt model will be incorporating a five speed manual transmission along with McPherson Struts and Torsion Bar suspension. The overall length, width and height of the car are expected to be around 3900 mm, 1680mm & 1550mm, respectively.
Performance of the Mitsubishi Colt
The powerful 1.5 litre four cylinder engine of the Colt will be offering a high level of performance. The addition of a range of advanced safety and performance boosting features further adds to the performance of the car. As per the performance of the Colt in other markets, the Colt model will be delivering a high mileage of 15 kmpl to 19 kmpl. However, the company is yet to disclose the acceleration and braking stats of the car. Features like Power windows, power steering and traction control system enhances the Mitsubishi Colt's stature even further.
Exterior, Interior & Safety of the Mitsubishi Colt
Carrying forward the world-class exterior designing of the Japanese auto giant Mitsubishi, the Colt model will come blessed with company’s state of art designing and styling cues.The features that make the Colt value for money include well shape bumper and bonnet, auto adjustable seats plus steering,power windows, power steering and many more.
The Colt is expected to come blessed with a range of advanced safety features including ABS (anti-lock breaking system) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), multiple airbags, traction control system, and many more.
