Mini Cooper is an iconic small car that was introduced initially by British Motor Corporation (BMC). In the recently concluded Frankfurt International Motor Show 2011 (IAA), the automaker showcased the coupe model of this car. Mini Cooper Coupe boasts of aerodynamic construction, blended with powerful engine, advanced suspension and weight balance. The recently unveiled Mini Cooper Coupe is available in four variants, namely Mini Cooper Coupe, Mini Cooper SD Coupe, Mini Cooper S Coupe and Mini John Cooper Works Coupe.
With five models under its hood, the car has successfully retained its niche among target segments. With a diverse brand folio under its belt, it successfully meets the specific needs and requirements of targeted groups and hopes to continue this legacy with the coupe version. Mini Coupe reflects distinctive character with its sporty, hunkered-down appearance and a new roof design. Apart from comprehensive styling, Mini Coupe has improved also improved in terms of charisma, fuel efficiency and driving experience. The new age Mini Coupe includes several modern features and arrangements, thus giving it a competitive edge over its arch rival, the Volkswagen Beetle. Engines & Specifications of Mini Cooper Coupe
Mini Coupe is available in four engine variants with power output ranging from 122 hp to 211 hp. Thus, the variants will be able to deliver maximum torque ranging from 1750 to 2700 rpm, depending upon the engine used in them. Besides powerful engines, Mini Cooper Coupe also boasts of advanced suspension setup, adequate weight distribution, rigid body and aerodynamic tweaks.
Performance of Mini Cooper Coupe
Mini Cooper has been redesigned in an aerodynamic manner for delivering excellent on-road performance. Some of the performance-boosting arrangements of this car are active rear spoiler and rigid chassis. Mini Cooper Coupe SD variant has an excellent acceleration and races from 0 to 100 kmph in less than eight seconds.
Exterior, Interior & Safety Features of Mini Cooper Coupe
Mini Cooper Coupe defines unmistakable character of Mini brand with its elegantly designed exteriors and interiors. This model is the brand’s first car of this series with a classic three-box structure. Some of the noteworthy exterior features of this car are stepped rear end, well-finished roofline and spacious 280 litre luggage compartment. The expressive design of Coupe is complemented with customisation options like roof flags, mirror caps and side indicator surrounds.
Interiors of Coupe model are also very appealing and complement its attractive exteriors. Its cabin is decorated with paint finishes, trim elements, upholstery variants and contrasting colour combinations. Among the noteworthy interior elements are steering wheel, gearshift knobs, trim strips and retro-fit components.
Several passive and active safety arrangements are present in the Mini Cooper Coupe. 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), emergency braking assist, ventilated front disc / solid rear disc brakes, engine immobiliser, stability control, traction control and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) are some of the active safety features of this car. Dual front with head protection chambers, side-mounted safety airbags, 2 front headrests, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, emergency interior trunk release and front height adjustable headrests are its notable passive safety arrangements.
