Lexus GX

Lexus, a luxury vehicle division of Japanese auto-maker Toyota Motor Corporation, is one of Japan's largest car makers across the world. It has introduced world class Sedan, coupé, convertible and SUV models in the global market. Lexus vehicles have traditionally been produced in Japan, though the overseas assembly unit for the car was first built in Ontario, Canada.

Lexus introduced the Lexus GX platform for mid-sized sport utility vehicles at North American International Auto Show in 2002, with the launch of the model, GX 470, being held in 2003. Its successor, Lexus GX 460, debuted in the Guangzhou International Auto Exhibition in China in November 2009. The company launched this car in two variants, which were named Lexus GX 460 and Lexus GX 460 Premium.

Now the company is set is launch 2012 Lexus GX 460, with minimal changes in the already available GX 460. The standard model of the new GX 460 receives colour-keyed body-side moulding with a chrome accent. On the other hand, the Premium model of GX 460 will now feature a high-gloss wheel finish. In terms of exteriors, the Fire Agate Pearl will be replaced by the Peridot Mica.

Engines & Specifications of Lexus GX

The all new Lexus GX will be available in two variants, namely Lexus GX 460 and Lexus GX 460 Premium. Both these variants will be powered by a 4.6 L V8 aluminium engine. The powerful engine will generate maximum power output of 301 hp at 5500 rpm. The torque generation capacity of the vehicle will be 446 Nm at 3500 rpm. The 32-valve DOHC engine of this car will feature dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i) for controlling the valve timing and optimising power, fuel efficiency and emissions.

Performance of Lexus GX

The performance of Lexus GX 460 will be quite exceptional, as the vehicle will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds. The aerodynamic design of the Lexus GX will render it the scope for fast acceleration. Lexus GX 460 will be assimilated with the standard full-time four-wheel drive. This four wheel drive uses an electronically controlled transfer case along with a TORSEN® torque-sensing limited slip centre differential for offering a low range for off-road driving. The 30:70 ratio during steering manoeuvres enhances the tracking through curves of this car.

Exterior, Interior & Safety Features of Lexus GX

The exteriors of the Lexus GX 440 are quite eye-catching due to the robust body-on-frame construction. The unique grille featuring three horizontal bars and a chrome surround frame, will grab the attention of onlookers. Low-profile roof rails, green-tint UV protection front glass and an acoustic insulation windshield are other highlights of the exteriors of this car.

From the inside, the new Lexus GX 460 will look very classy and elegant. The car will have leather-trimmed seat facings, shift knob, instrument panel stitching and soft-touch surfaces that will enhance the luxury feel. Regarding safety, the vehicle will include Supplemental Restraint System and Smart Stop Technology. The Premium model will feature the optional Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Driver Attention Monitor Package.
