The Japan based luxury car maker introduced GS series, a range of luxury sedans in the year 1993. The prestigious car maker has rolled out three generations of the GS series sedan range until now. The current generation of GS series has two models in the form of GS 460h and GS 350. Current generation of GS series emphasises on bold / dynamic design, driving dynamics, interior amenities, passenger safety, better on-road experience and overall comfort.
Lexus GS 450h is the recent addition to this range, which is loaded with a second generation Lexus hybrid drive system, along with all new Atkinson cycle V6 gas engine. Loaded with advanced technical capabilities, this car delivers improved fuel efficiency as compared to its predecessors. The hybrid version of GS 450, this vehicle boasts of two-motor hybrid system in a front engine rear-wheel drive vehicle. Besides, Lexus GS 450h has several advanced technical capabilities for optimum fuel consumption and reduced emissions. Moreover, it has various driving modes, such as Eco, Sport S, Sport S+ and EV, for ensuring excellent performance on all roads.
Engines & Specifications of Lexus GS
Lexus GS 450h is a full-hybrid vehicle capable of operating in gas-only or electric-only modes. The recent addition to GS series of sedans, Lexus GS 450h is integrated with hybrid drive system that encompasses high revving Atkinson cycle 3.5 L V6 engine, which can generate power, output of 338 hp. The power packed drive system is combined with a high output water-cooled permanent magnet electric motor. Besides the gas engine, Lexus GS 450h has hybrid drive system generator fitted with nickel-metal hydride battery. Moreover, adoption of the Atkinson cycle engine design has improved fuel-efficiency of the car.
Performance of Lexus GS
The third generation Lexus GS car, GS 450h delivers excellent on-road performance. Loaded with latest technology, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph within just 5.6 seconds and has top speed of 211 kmph. In terms of fuel consumption, this vehicle delivers 30 per cent better fuel efficiency than its siblings. Moreover, it is a certified super-ultra low emissions vehicle II (SULEV II).
Exterior, Interior & Safety Features of Lexus GS
The new generation Lexus GS has a precisely sculpted exterior, reminiscent of the LFA supercar, for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. A distinct three-lamp design, high / low beam LED lamps, detailed tail lamps and design of the trunk area are some of the notable exterior features of Lexus GS 450h. Its rear bumper under body reduces wind resistance for improved stability and air inlets located on the outer edges of the lower grille serve as cooling ducts. Signature spindle grille, aggressive front bumper, L-shaped LED daytime running lamps and deep-set, high-tech headlamps illustrate the dynamism of this car.
Interior design of Lexus GS 450h includes several luxurious and technological arrangements. Advanced remote touch, analogue clock with LED indicators and energy-saving auto climate control 'S-Flow' system are among the new age convenience arrangements of recent edition of Lexus GS.
Several safety and security arrangements are present in the all-new Lexus GS 450h, such as 10 airbags, Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) front seats and seatbelts with pre-tensioners. Pre-collision and dynamic radar cruise control system further enhances the safety of occupants. Some other noteworthy safety technologies integrated in Lexus GS 350h include night vision, Heads Up Display (HUD), blind spot monitor, Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

I have a Lexus GS 300, 1994 model automatic transmission
car. car is runing good but in cold climate whenever I tried to start in the morning there is no engine crank,no any other sound except fuel pump sound, just like silent without battery. I have to keep the key in start position for 10 seconds the car starts. This happens first time in the morning only.
