Lexus ES

Lexus, wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Motors Corporation, has been a benchmark in the domain of producing premium cars. The luxury car maker introduced ES series, a range of mid-size luxury sedans, in the year 1989. The automaker has rolled out five generations of mid-size sedan under this series until now, all generations emphasizing on interior amenities, smooth on-road experience and overall comfort. Lexus has only one premium sedan under the ES hood at present, ES 350.

The company is set to launch its 2012 Lexus ES 350, built on Toyota Camry platform. The new ES 350 will be launched almost unchanged except for the new Nebula Gray Pearl exteriors. Continuing to impress Lexus enthusiasts, the car will be loaded with amenities like 10-way power adjustable front seats, moonroof and a multi-information display. The price of the 2012 Lexus ES 350 has not yet been disclosed, but according to the experts the car will be between Rs. 18 lacs to Rs 20 lacs.

There have been several design revisions in the latest generation of ES series sedan. Elegant headlamps, gracious grille design, chrome accents, body side moulding and side mirrors with integrated turn signals will grab the attention of onlookers. Rear of the premium car is as appealing as front, featuring detailed rear tail lamps and gracious alloy wheels. Among other high-end features of ES 350 are Mark Levinson surround sound, HDD navigation system, power rear sunshade, Lexus memory system and dual climate control.

Engines & Specifications of Lexus ES

The latest generation of Lexus ES 350 will be assimilated with power-packed 3.5-litre V6 engine. The aluminium block/heads engine is supported by four cams, four valves per cylinder, with dual variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) to deliver phenomenal on-road performance. This powerful engine delivers an exceptional power output of 268 hp at 6,200 rpm and has maximum torque of 335 Nm at 4,700 rpm. Furthermore, Lexus ES 350 will have compression ratio of 10.8:1 and is a certified ultra-low emission vehicle (ULEV II).

New ES 350 will be integrated with advanced dual variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) technology for enhanced on-road performance. The mechanism helps in monitoring engine speed along with load. While it increase torque at lower speeds for better manoeuvring and boosts power at higher speeds. Owing to flexible valvetrain, ES 350 delivers better performance and minimises the level of emissions. Furthermore, ES 350 has an excellent acceleration and pick-up, as it can race from 0 to 100 kmph in mere 7.0 seconds.

Exterior, Interior & Safety Features of Lexus ES

Aerodynamic built of latest mid-size sedan in Lexus ES series has reduced coefficient of drag to 0.29. Tapered front and narrow gaps in the body panels has improved car control and has added to fuel efficiency. Exteriors of ES provide a glimpse of sporty character with dynamic headlamps, integrated foglamps and wraparound taillamps. Glass Roof, 17-inch alloy wheels and dual-swivel adaptive front lighting are some of the contrasting exteriors of the car.

Plush interiors of new generation are designed with utmost precision to ensure comfort and safety of occupants.
