The country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India Ltd. (HMIL) has launched a new generation version of its popular starting range sedan Verna in the Indian market. The all new Verna 2011 is based on Hyundai’s RB concept and is blessed with Hyundai’s new fluidic design signature. The Verna sedan has been through a series of changes and upgradations since its introduction in the world market. The car was initially launched as Verna in the Indian market a few years back, followed by a new age version – Verna Transform – in year 2010. The Verna was initially launched in the country in year 2008.

The all new Hyundai Verna 2011 has now been offered in the price range of Rs 6.99 to Rs 10.74 lakh, where it will be fighting for space with the likes of Honda City, Maruti SX4, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Etios, Ford Fiesta and Fiat Linea. The all new Verna model has been offered in both petrol and diesel versions powered by 1.4L petrol, 1.6L petrol, 1.4L diesel and a 1.6L diesel engines.

Hyundai India had made a number of cosmetic and technological changes in the Verna sedan including a newly designed front and an advanced engine start-stop button. The car is available in both automatic and manual transmissions in the Indian market.

Engine & Specifications of the Hyundai Verna RB

The all new Hyundai Verna RB has been offered in four engine options including 1.4L petrol, 1.6L petrol, 1.4L diesel and a 1.6L diesel engine. The 1.4L petrol engine is capable of delivering a peak power of 106 bhp along with a peak torque of 135 Nm. On the other hand, the high powered 1.6L petrol engine of the Verna delivers a peak power of 122 bhp with a peak torque of 156 Nm. The 1.4L diesel generates a maximum power of 90 bhp with maximum torque of 224 Nm. The high powered 1.6L diesel engine delivers 126 bhp of maximum power with 265 Nm of maximum torque. The Hyundai Verna RB is available in both automatic and manual transmission options.

While developing the all new Hyundai Verna 2011, the company has made sure that it delivers an impeccable performance for the Indian roads. The Verna comes blessed with a range of performance boosting highly sophisticated technological features including the likes of push-button engine start/stop. The 1.6L petrol and 1.6L diesel version of the car break the speed barrier of 0-60 kmpl in just 4.87 seconds and 4.71 seconds, respectively.
