Chevrolet Sonic

Chevrolet, a fully owned subsidy of General Motors, is involved in the manufacturing of mini-compact cars. The company has plans to launch its Chevrolet Sonic in the Indian market. This car model would be available as a 4-door sedan or as a hatchback segment. The Chevrolet Sonic would be available in three variants, namely Chevrolet Sonic LS, LT and LTZ. The vehicle would be powered with a pair of DOHC Ecotec engines and the transmission in this vehicle is 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Chevrolet has kept variations in the engine configuration as the variants are made available with different engines. The Sonic uses a 1.4 L turbo with six-speed manual transmission, 1.8 L with five-speed manual transmission and 1.8 L with six-speed automatic transmission. From the outside, the Chevrolet Sonic looks solid with aggressive looks. The interiors are also quite spacious with sufficient legroom and boot space.

Engines & Specifications of Chevrolet Sonic

The Chevrolet Sonic is powered by DOHC Ecotec engines. The Ecotec engines are available in three types such as the 1.4 L turbo with six speed manual transmission, 1.8 L with 5-speed manual transmission and 1.8 L with 6-speed automatic transmission. The maximum power output of the Chevrolet Sonic varies with its variants.

The 1.8 L engine produces a maximum displacement of 135 hp, whereas the 1.4 L engine produces a maximum displacement of 138 hp. Torque generation capacity of the 1.8 L engine is 168 Nm at 4800 rpm and on the other side, the 1.4 L generates a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1850 rpm.

Chevrolet Sonic has scored well in terms of performance as the DOHC Ecotec engine of this Chevy car enables it to deliver quite a decent performance on the roads. Like any other Chevrolet car, this car also delivers an efficient fuel-economy.

The exteriors of the Chevrolet Sonic convey strength, refinement and stability. Prominent features such as progressive, raked body lines give the vehicle a swift look. In the front, the Chevrolet Sonic flaunts motorcycle-inspired round headlamps, dual-element grille round tail lamp at the rear end of the car.

The interiors of the Chevrolet Sonic have been made elegant. The cabin of the car is facilitated with a detailed instrument cluster which consists of a round analogue tachometer set within an asymmetrical LCD readout. The interiors have been made spacious with storage components in the centre stack and doors. The rear seats can be folded so as to carry large items.

Regarding the safety, the Chevrolet Sonic consists of an efficient anti lock braking system, the four-sensor system at each wheel and 10 air-bags. All these measures lead to proper safety of the vehicle on the roads.
