Audi A3

The Audi A3 is a compact luxury sports car which is expected to hit the Indian roads by year 2012. The car is expected to be priced in the segment of sub Rs 20 lakh, where it will be competing with the likes of Honda Accord, Volkswagen Passat, Nissan Teana and Toyota Camry. The Audi A3 model will be the cheapest car in the company’s India portfolio, and will come powered by 2.0L TDI Clubsport Quattro engine, delivering a power packed performance on the Indian roads.  

In a recent statement, company’s India Head Mr. Michael Pershcke said, “We have certain products in mind which we want to introduce to gain leadership position in the Indian market. We are looking at adding on the A3 to our portfolio and are conducting a market study to assess the feedback among consumers here.”

The launch of the A3 sedan in the rapidly growing luxury segment in the country will not only strengthen the company’s position in the Indian market but also enable it to enhance its market share considerably. Carrying a modern sports car look, the new Audi A3 is expected to receive an over-whelming response from the Indian buyers of this segment.

Engine & Specification of the Audi A3

The Audi A3 model will come powered by 2.0L TDI Clubsport Quattro engine that is capable of delivering a peak power of 165 kW (224 bhp) along with a massive torque of 450 Nm. The car is also expected to be launched with a 1.8L TFSI petrol engine that delivers a maximum power of 158 Bhp @ 4500 rpm along with a peak torque of 250 Nm @ 1500 rpm.  The Audi A3 would be carrying a 6-speed manual transmission.

Performance of the Audi A3

Loaded by a power packed 2.0L TDI Clubsport Quattro and 1.8L TFSI petrol engine options; the Audi A3 model will be delivering a staggering performance on the Indian roads. The all new A3 sedan is capable of breaking the speed barrier of 100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds and carries a top speed of 240 kmph. The car is expected to be delivering a high fuel economy in the range of 10 to 14 kmpl.

The Audi A3 model will be carrying a ravishing 3-door look, which catches the eye of the masses where-ever it goes. The futuristically designed Ibis white roof and hood with the combination of white and red color makes it a real head-turner.

Inside, the Audi A3 is blessed with high quality material along with a number of comfort and convenience features including auto adjustable seats, newly designed door panels and floor mat, flat bottom steering wheel, Leather trimmed struts and stylish buttons over central console and a monitor to control and manage the navigation and entertainment.
