Volvo Dealerships in India

Volvo Cars is a world-famous Swedish car manufacturing company. It traces its roots back to the founding of parent company AB Volvo in 1927. Volvo entered the rapidly growing car market in India a little over 2 years ago with the launch of the first Volvo dealerships. It started with the setting up of a corporate office facility at Gurgaon in 2008 and this was soon followed by the setting up of a Volvo dealership in Chandigarh and soon spread its operation to other metropolitan cities of India.

There are but few Volvo models currently available in the Indian market, including the X80 sedan and the Volvo XC90 wagon-SUV crossover.  Both models are imported from abroad as completely-built-units (CBU). Volvo plans to introduce a new model, the XC60 in India sometime in November. The Volvo XC60 is also a wagon-SUV crossover while being a slightly smaller version of the XC90.
 

That being said, Volvo dealerships are spread everywhere in India. Volvo has an extensive network of sales service and dealers throughout India. Some famous Volvo dealers in the country are Artemis Cars in Coimbatore, Talwar Cars in Hyderabad, Shreenath Motors in Mumbai, Auto Kashyap India in Delhi and Planet Exklusiv in Pune.
The used car market for Volvo in India has relatively less demand. This is probably because Volvo has just entered the Indian market while the likes of BMW and Audi have already grabbed a foothold in the foreign cars market. Given some time, Volvo may catch up to these giants. Hopefully Volvo used car dealerships will flourish in India in future.
