When I took delivery of my Nano 2012 LX in Mar 2012. I was initially getting around 16-17 kmpl, in Bangalore city traffic, with A/c on around 50% of time. After crossing 500-600 kms, mileage steadily improved, and now i'm past 1200kms First free service over and getting around 19 kmpl. Same conditions. I feel that traffic conditions and individual driving style has a big impact on mileage. In Crowded cities, esp Bangalore, Bumper to bumper traffic is common and you will get shitty mileage in this condition. Aggressive drivers who accelerate and brake hard will also burn more fuel than sober drivers. Also how well you maintain your vehicle, quality of petrol will also matters. Let me know your thoughts.

Only 11 kmpl? Very disppointed. Poor response from customer care of Prerana Motors (dealer) and Tata Motors staff. Both told me i don't know how to drive. My neighbour gets 10 kmpl on his Mercedes!

I bought Tata Nano in the month of February2011, and let me tell you that i am very much satisfied with the performance of my car. I took my car for long drive (mumbai to ahemedabad and return) without any trouble. Fuel efficiency of my vehicle is 20 to 22 on highway. It's a wonderful small car. Special Thank's to Mr. Ratan Tata.

I have conjusted traffic around house and mostly move around in 1st & 2nd gear for atleast a km every time i take my vehicle out. Mostly short trips are of 10-15 trips from home. I was told this is the main reason of low city milage? Can any one have similar conditions with better milage?

Very disappointed with the mileage and the tata service centers are not interested in solving the problems. Not a good buy with such a poor fuel consumption. No resale value - am getting only 55% of cost for a 8 month old Nano

I have 2 nano, both crosses 5000kms. I confirm nano gives poor mileage. I get 11 to 12kms per ltr. Service persons coulnt solve the problem. Now we have complain to Tata Customer Complain.

Driving at 50-60km/hr give good milage. Follow the guideline of max speeds provided i.e. 1st gear 15km/hr, 2nd gear max of 30km/hr, 3rd gear max of 40km/hr and 4th gear not more than 70km/hr.

Very delicate car we cannot go faster (60 to 70) but great mileage satisfactory performance. Spare parts under the body wheel bearings, lower link need to be a solid round rod instead of a "U" section. adding welded rod to the U section may damage the warranty terms. Some good alternative should be taken care for the wheels and suspensions. When 4 people travel in a highway, the body is shaking (80 kmph) body built vibrations are irritating sound is going beyond the music system.

All the spare parts under the body are very delicate... which we cannot dare to run fast (60-70 km).

NANO This is my first car. Its easy to drive. Im a sbi employee, means im from middle class. Now im also having a car which gives mileage of 26 kmpl in high ways & in city drive 20 Kmpl. It is very economical. Five persons can sit comfortably. Thanks to TATA for making, many middle class people,(including me) to become a car owner.

Got our car 3 days ago, pune, 20 kms highway +20kms city driving two way. Got 19.32 as the average.... of course with air con ON all the time. If my acceleration skills change can possibly get 22 out of the little wonder.

Dear readers, its a wonderful car , The milage on the highways is too good. Only the drawback is abt carrying luggage. I advice the Tata co to make use of the space above the engine which is left unused atleast to carry any handbags during travelling.

you have to maintain speed 60 to 70 km per hour in long drive. In city dont use ac , petrol bunk is most important why because there is no body fill exactly ltr , air pressure in tyres ,and weight how many persons travailing in your car.

I purchased TATA nano LX BS III on 13-01-2011, the mileage is very good it is giving on long drive with out AC 23.5 Km per Ltr and in local with AC 21 Km per Ltr

Hi I got a BS-4, Tata Nano lk, and have covered only 300 kms and I found out the mileage is 23-24 kms per litre.

In Bangalore, I Purchased a second hand nano which was used by the earlier owner for 60kms only, in feburary,2010. Till now i have done more than 6000 km. I take my daughter to drop her to a residental school and do 400 km up and down and when i drive around 60kms speed, i am consistenly gettind around 24kms. It is a good value for money car, for people who dont want to shell out fancy price of 3 or 4 lakhs for the same interior sized car. I Thank Ratna Tata for thinking for the vast majority of common folks like us. I am not a employee of Tata motors, Please dont mistake.

Mileage excellent... Comfort Excellent... Drive is Good.... Control and maneuverability is good. Tata must give a think on adding one more cylinder to reduce the noise and vibrations. One more disadvantage of this car is no luggage space. You need to open the bonnet every time to fill fuel. Good mileage of course....

I am getting 28 kms per litre of petrol for my Nano on Highways . very good performance. Recently I have faced a starting problem due to the electrical fuel pumb.It sometime not working smoothly. The service man came and made a massage on the pump Nano started. Once again it happened & I gave a massage on the pump again Nano started . I do not know what is the problem to the petrol pump . My car run smoothy for one year after 5600 kms I faced this problem.

I drove Nano LX For long drive (Appr. 300KM) without Ac. I have maintained the speed between 60 and 70. My car has given 24.95KM/Lt. However with Ac and 90KM Speed, it has given 15KM/Lt

In Chennai, We have to change the gear often and so the mileage may be less. My car has run 1700 kms sofar. I have to wait for the second service for improvement in mileage.

I got the delivery of Nano in July 10. After 1st service, I tested its mileage on high way, it was hardly 17Kmpl. Is it because I topped up fuel from one petrol pump at the start & another petrol pump at the end while testing ?

There have been absolutely contradictory reviews about the mileage of the Tata Nano on portals like Cardheko and Mouthshut. While some Nano owners have written that they are getting an excellent mileage of 21 Km per litre in City Traffic with the AC on there are other Nano owners who have written that they are getting only 10 Km per litre or even lesser in City Traffic with the AC on. How can there be such a wide variation of over 50% in fuel average whatever the driving conditions or driving skills may be ? I am a Nano LX owner and my Nano is consistently giving just 10.5 Km per litre for the past nine months having covered 4000 Kms. I have carefully tested my Nano for the last six months running 2500 Kms and have with me irrefutable data to prove that my Nano is consistently giving a mileage of only 10.5 Km per litre in City Traffic. I have passed on this data to Tata Motors. Mr. R Gopala Krishnan - Senior Manager - Customer Support, Tata Motors Chennai has driven my Nano along with a two member Plant Testing Team for three days and has orally confirmed that my Nano gives only 10.5 Kms in City Traffic. He has also confirmed that my Nano also gave him a mileage of 23 Km per litre when he tested it on the Highway which is a blatant lie because I have tested my Nano on the Highway with a diagnostics laptop attached and the mileage recorded was only 18 Km per litre. From what I have gathered in the last six months speaking to several Nano owners in Chennai and Kolkatta is that most of the Nano's are giving 16 to 18 + Kms per litre in City Traffic with the AC on and the mileage apparently goes as high as 21 Km per litre in City Traffic with the AC on which is really fantastic. At the same time, there are a handful of unfortunate defective Nano owners like me who are consistently getting just 10 to 11 Km per litre in City Traffic with the AC on. This kind of variation is absurd and what is even more absurd is the statement of Mr. V. Ramesh Kumar (another Senior Manager with Tata Motors, Chennai) wherein he has confirmed in writing that "Your car is absolutely trouble free and the fuel average you got in such conditions is very appreciable". Absolute nonsense and pasteurised bullshit. I am still waiting for Tata Motors to break their silence and come forward to do whatever needs to be done so that I also get a mile of 16 to 18 Km per litre.
