Always drive your car at 5th gear when you drive at speed of 40 km/hr

very poor mileage. what will i do ?

My wagon r done only 800 km and having 10.5 kmpl which is almost half as claimed by manufacturar. please someone suggest me for better mileage.

Havng Wagon R LXI, Oct 2009 Model. After trying all precautions (i.e. tyre pressure, AC off on humps / gutters, not driving too fast, avoiding Jams, regular servicing, cleaning of air filter, not using clutch, when not required. For having good milage from petrol driven car it is important to clean air filter reqularly with air pressure and replace it as soon as it catches greasy dirt.

switch off ac when there is a hump or gutteron the road as the engine consumes more petrol while trying to push the engine.

wagganr cas as excellent, small & mini luxz. car. in india. wagan car avr. as by road. 21 kmpl without ac - with ac 19kmpl.

drive as guide lines

I owe LXI wagon R, trust me folks its worth the pricing. I get an avg of about 16KM/L in city and around 20-22 KM/L highway. However,thats when i drive at constant speed. 60-70, For a good avg, avoid jams & bottlenecks ;) There's only one complaint with the car, slowly u get to observe noises from the dashboard (due to plastic parts) & Machpherson strut suspension in an another example of the noises .

it's not good low mileage

new wagon r-- good mileage..For better FE,drive at a constant speed of around 55-60, avoid sudden braking,acceleration.

Keep air pressure in all tyres as per manufacturers standards, press clutch when required and leave clutch pedal, never keep foot contuniously on clutch pedal while driving

For better fuel effieiency keep the following points in mind: gradual acceleration, maintain proper air pressure in tyres, maintainance every 10,000 kms, wheel balencing & alignment, prefer filling fuel from one pump only.
