Tips, questions and experiencesAllow your Car's engine to be warm up for at least
2-3 mins after you start your car in morning.Follow speed limits.As soon as your car's speed reaches to 40,shift to the top gear and drive at the speed of 50-60 kmph,in city.Avoid unnecessary use of clutch pedal.Regularly clean the air-filter.Check wheel alignment on regular basis.Try not do press the brakes rapidly.On highway even at the speed of 120-130,my car's mileage is above 18 kmpl.This is because i love my car.Get your car serviced from Maruti Suzuki service station on regular intervals.Keep tyre pressure maintained.My car is fitted with 13" alloy wheels with radial tyres.Even then i get good mileage only because i follow the instructions provided by Maruti Suzuki

My Maruti Alto Lxi car 2008 model BS3 gives me an average mileage of only 10.32 Km / litre with AC on 40 % of driving duration for driving in Vashi- Deonar area of Navi Mumbai . Todate the car has done only a mileage of 4492 Km . The car is otherwise in excellent condition . What could be the reason for the poor mileage and how to rectify same ?

My car used to give very good mileage during first three years after purchase. Howver, after that is reduced drastically and no Maruti service center is able to rectify it.

My Maruti Alto car 2005 earlier it was giving average of 16.5 /ltr with ac on highway and 15.0km/ltr cityand now it reduced to 12.25/ltr on highway and 10.10 in city.Now I am unhappy .pls suggest.

Drive at uniform speed, do not over speed or brake suddenly, raise your windows in highway and put on AC, maintain optimum tire pressure

I have purchased a 2011 model Alto Lxi on 11 June. I am suffering from poor mileage. It is giving me only 9km/l mileage in Dhaka city. I did not face any problem in accelaration with AC. I drove up to 90 kmph with 25% ACwithout any problem. My odo reading is only 604 km since I purchased only 7 days before. Do anybody have any idea on the mileage problem I am facing?

The average of my alto LXI in city was previously 18 KM in city. Recently it dropped to 12 KM, I serviced it at the maruti authorised dealers, tuning and other checks were done, no fault was found, but the mileage is still 12 KM no improvement. What could be the reason for this pls suggest as it is very uneconomical to use the vehicle like this.

No sudden brakes, no sharp acceleration, no rash speeding over 85-90 KMPH, using overdrive above 45 KMPH. Use shell petrol. Strict adherance to service schedule. Air pressure 32-31 psi (all 4 tyres). Figures with 25-50% AC on.

If drive in decent speed (60-80), Alto gives very good mileage ( Even got 21kmpl on highway without AC). Mileage drops heavily if speeding above 80KMpH

alto lxi is the worst car in india poor pick up, poor gear shifts, very low mileage donot boy alto even my maruti 800 was much much decent car in all terms the manual mikuni carburettor was awesome now they have removed that carburettor and placed a shitty thing ecm rubbish thing that cannot be programmed or checked by a local mechanic guys dont buy this bul shit car go for wagon r for maruti or swift an for hyundai go for santro or i 10

Hi Guys,
I bought alto on Oct-2010.
It gives me mileage of 17.5kmpl in city with 50% AC on. On highway 20kmpl with 50% AC on.
Eventhough it gives me good mileage, the sound off the engine is little high.I agree with the body vibration problem in Alto during Idle.
I used to drive 1997 Maruti Zen before which has no vibration at all. Now I am thinking why I bought a new car

PRESENTLY I AM USING A ALTO LXI WHICH 2007 MODEL, I GOT MAXMIMUM MILEAGE IN THE CITY 10 KM/LTR. AVERAGE MILEAGE IS 9 TO 9.5 KM/LTR WITHOUT AC. SEVERAL TIMES I TOLD SERVICE CENTER (MOHAN MOTOR, CALCUTTA), VIEWS OF TECHNICIAN IS THIS IS A GOOD MILEAGE IN THE CITY. FURTHER NOW I AM FACEING A NEW PROBLEM, WHEN AC IS ON PICKUP OF THE CAR IS VERY POOR, HOW THIS PROBLEM CAN BE SORTED, PL ADVICE.
