Tips, questions and experiencesAt the beginning i used to get 10 kmpl, now i get around 14 in city and 17 in highway. But I miss the thrilling pickup of the car.

Astar a drivers delight for handling , common mans delight for fuel efficiency and family delight as a super vehicle. nothing more can one expect from a small car. with four passengers at 100 to 120 kmph speed fuel eff. is 21kmpl in highway.

ya its still possible to drive your car on 5th gear even below 35km/hr speed.,.but if u want good mileage then never drive your on 5th gear below 40km/hr.,
And always upshift your gear only when u get the perfect speed from that gear.,
dont ever press ur fuel pedal to the floor.,.do only just give a feather touch to it.,
instead of a hard brake take ur foot from the accelerator pedal far before the destination.

I am having A-Star zxi, till date I have completed 3000kms, The mileage I am getting after 1500kms of run is 20-21km/lts (without AC)& 18-19km/lts (with AC)

A-star is Really awesome. wonderful pick-up,K-Series engine is really a powerful engine.Gear shifting is very very smooth and easy. i have gone up to 100 kmph and felt the car is steady. AC is too good.

Maruti A-Star Mileage
Maruti cars are well known for their mileage and the Maruti A-Star mileage is no exception. In fact, the Maruti A-Star is seen as one of the most fuel efficient cars in the country. The latest version of the A-Star is equipped with innovative K10 B engine, which is made up of light weighted aluminum with three cylinder that promises to give high acceleration with decreased friction, and all these boost the Maruti A-Star’s mileage.
In an impressive development, the ARAI had conducted fuel efficiency tests with the car, in which the Maruti A-Star achieved a mileage of 19.48 km per liter.
However, in practice, this 998cc displacement car with five speed manual gearbox transmission can give a mileage of 14.6 km per liter in city traffic and 18.9 km per liter in highways whereas the automatic transmission version of Maruti A-Star can give a mileage of 17 km per liter in highways.
