Very poor pick-up, particularly in second gear. Mileage and pickup improves when the Ac is switched off while driving. Very poor rear seat space. The i10 is far better car. The only solace for buying it is its supposedly low maintenance cost and easy engineering. In short a janatha class company. May be suitable for India.

Allow your Car's engine to be warm up for at least
2-3 mins after you start your car in morning.Follow speed limits. As soon as your car's speed reaches to 40,shift to the top gear and drive at the speed of 50-60 kmph,in city.Avoid unnecessary use of clutch pedal.Regularly clean the air-filter.Check wheel alignment on regular basis.Try not do press the brakes rapidly. On highway even at the speed of 120-130,my car's mileage is above 18 kmpl. This is because i love my car.Get your car serviced from Maruti Suzuki service station on regular intervals.Keep tyre pressure maintained. My car is fitted with 13" alloy wheels with radial tyres.Even then i get good mileage only because i follow the instructions provided by Maruti Suzuki

I own a Maruti 800. And iam using it for the past 5 years. I find it very comfortable in driving my car. It is very easy to drive through rough roads, traffic jams, and the very best i like it is that we can go easily through narrow roads. It has very low cost maintanance and spare parts. I find easy to make some repairs on my own. It is really a family car. And i really take care of it very well.
Maintain tyre pressre at 33 for all the tryres including your spare tyre(Fill your car tyre pressure at authorised petrol pumps only)and at private air filling stations it will be 28. Try to be on top gear(4), never brake suddenly nor accelerate suddenly. Maintain the car speed between 45 to 55 if possible. Change your engine oil for every 5000 km. Check your battery status time to time and alternator. And finally check your engine and alternator belts.
DRIVE SLOWLY, AND FOLLOW TRAFFIC RULES FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CAR AND YOUR FAMILY.
Thank you.

Very poor mileage. Car company like Maruti has fooled customers saying K12 engine is very efficient. In fact, they are cheating the people by mis-selling the car and declaring wrong mileage at sales point. Those who wish to join appeal with Competition Commission of India please contact me on my email ID.

but my baleno done 93000kms it is 2005 model giving me excellent milege 13 kms in town with a/c most of my driing below 80kmph, i think reason for low milege un necessory gear shifting.it can be run smoothly on 5th gear at 38 kmph
This comment was posted under Maruti Suzuki Baleno Manoj on January 2, 2011
ya its still possible to drive your car on 5th gear even below 35km/hr speed.,.but if u want good mileage then never drive your on 5th gear below 40km/hr.,
And always upshift your gear only when u get the perfect speed from that gear.,
dont ever press ur fuel pedal to the floor.,.do only just give a feather touch to it.,
instead of a hard brake take ur foot from the accelerator pedal far before the destination.
thanking you

Hi Guys,
I bought alto on Oct-2010.
It gives me mileage of 17.5kmpl in city with 50% AC on. On highway 20kmpl with 50% AC on.
Eventhough it gives me good mileage, the sound off the engine is little high.I agree with the body vibration problem in Alto during Idle.
I used to drive 1997 Maruti Zen before which has no vibration at all. Now I am thinking why I bought a new car

I am leaving in bangalore, for the city drive i get 16-17 and last week i went to kerala. highways- (bangalore to kerala) if we will go at the speed of 60-80 we will get 25-28 but if we will go more than 120 km/h its come down like anything something around 16-19. such a huge difference would be happen. surprisingly i was drove the vehicle (ritz) at a speed of 170 km/h.
if the vehicle is above 155 km/h speed then some jerking will be come but an average speed we can go at a speed of 150 km/h, its fully controllable.

MarutiSwiftDZire is a highly reliable car. I am using it for the past 1 year and whether it is monsoon or summer or winter, whichever climate, MarutiSwiftDZire is tackling all the problems like excessive heat, water clogged roads, the ground clearance is good, so I drive the car when every other car corners! Also, MarutiSwiftDZire is a Maruti product, so no worries for resale value too!!

Dear friends, To check mileage always fill brim to brim. Tyre pressure for Dzire petrol is 33psi which to be maintained. The myth of good quality petrol available only at private outlets are fading with my experience. Since the difference of prices has narrowed the private players like Shell ,Essar and reliance need not attract you with quality.Unfortunately the mileage of present cars are too much depend on driving speed. The best mileage in Dzire (K)is in a small speed width. Try to arrive at 5th gear at a reasonable time and maintain at a cruise speed of 55 to 60 Km/hr. At 100-120 Km/hr and on A/c if you get 14 KPL you are lucky. Once in a while be patient and drive at the recommended economy speed of 55 to 60Km/hr at 5th gear and see the mileage which will be about 18Km/l.The worst mileage is the trips with a shorter distance of less than 4 Km and the next trips after a long period of more than 4 hours( the engine again cooled). Most of the fuel in these trips are used for warming up and bringing your vehicle to the required condition. When the vehicle has reached the ideal condition for giving you a good mileage you have already reached the destnation.Simlarly for the short return trip. This mileage you should never record. The figure will be disappointing and will have no consistency.

I have purchased a Dzire Vxi(K) in Jan 2010. It has clocked 8600 Km. The vehicle is very good except the difference of mileage I am getting and ARAI figure. Oil I changed at 5000 Km instead of 10000 recommended. No maintance cost other than oil change. This is my 4th Maruthi vehicle.

For better fuel effieiency keep the following points in mind: gradual acceleration, maintain proper air pressure in tyres, maintainance every 10,000 kms, wheel balencing & alignment, prefer filling fuel from one pump only.

Suzuki's K series engines, although , are as refined and as dependable as its other cars engines, but its no where near the hype they are creating for its mileage or power.
In a nutshell, K series engine is all hype and no substance , but that takes nothing away from suzuki for its ever dependable and powerful cars. I feel suzuki is a buy and forget maintainence car , just like honda city and civic.
