Caliber is superb bike and is mother of all the bikes of Bajaj. (Pulser, Discover etc. It is superb if you are taking good care and periodic maintainance is must.
In poorest road it gives 50 . My bike has alredy done 2 lakh Kms. For those who are having this bike, dont be foolish to sell is at any cost. You will never get like it. even pulser is not any wher, if you know the rules of comparision.

The bike has been modified to get Yamaha R15 look. The seller has informed that the bike gives 35-40 KMPL & he is asking for Rs 20,000.00. All papers are clean & available. Do you think its a good deal & i should buy it?

Slowly increase the revolution of engine when you exceed 4500 RPM.Still you will be in good speed. Similarly from 8500 RPM,lower the speed slowly.Overfueling causes carbon deposit in spark plug and it stops firing if you are quick thru' RPM rise and lowering.

my bajaj platina hardly gives 40 kms per litre ever since the first hand purchase in 2007. overhauling and other tuning efforts by the Bajaj trained mechanics have no effect. what could be wrong?
carburettor changed, cylinder head changed, cd unit changed - no use.

I own Pulsar DTS-i 2006
following are the tips:
1. Service your bike without fail at 2500 Kms by a good mechanic
2. Use Good Brand engine oil. (I use Falcon)
3. Instead of concentracting on Speedometer, maintain Rpm meter within the Green(Economy)markings.
4. maintain recommended air press in tyres by checking regulary (pref once in 2 days)
5. Avoiding sudden throttle and breaking
6. replace spares as per the maintenance chart without fail. (Eg: Sprk plgs, filters etc)

Hi, I am planing to buy a bike, i like two Thunderbird and Avanger.
test ride of thunderbird was very exciting, it very ease on road, sharp ends, and ups and downs. whereas i found avenger as striaght drive bike, the handle gets very heavy at sharp turns, and a little uncoustomed sittings for a new driver.
However, the price difference is making difficult to select thunderbird. Can any one suggest. also is there any news of a newer model release of avenger in near fuure.
One more thing, some time back on the website of Avenger it was mentioned that it has tubeless tyres, but when contacted the showroom, they confirmed it not. Whats the truth? Why website had mentioned it?
