Yamaha launched yet another version of its most popular FZ model. The new Yamaha Fazer was launched in India by the company with the tag line “Touring Spirit”. The FZ model has been especially tweaked for long distance travelling experiences and is a new addition to Yamaha’s FZ portfolio. The company already has FZ-16 and FZ-S models in the market which are highly successful in the 150cc segment.
The all new Yamaha Fazer will be manufactured at its new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh. The new model has an overall length, width, height of 1,975mm, 770mm and 1,045mm respectively with a seat height of 790mm, wheelbase of 1,335mm, and minimum ground clearance of 160mm.

Yamaha Fazer is priced at Rs. 72,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in four colors, viz; Electric Blue, Midnight Black, Lava Red, and Flaming Orange. “It gives us great pride to say that we have reached yet another milestone in the history of India Yamaha Motor as we inaugurate the new plant and launch Fazer. During Auto Expo 2008, we had announced our investment plans and had promised to give India the feel of high technology and real Yamaha. We are pleased to have delivered on our commitments while being sincere to our customers,” said Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & Managing Director, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.

very true!!!
i think its just the FZ with a fairing!!! thats all!! but i feel , yamaha, by using the name of Fazer, are taking off the sheen off the true Fazer. True Fazer is a beauty. n they already tried to defame it last time when they came out with the ugly namesake!!! arko (July 07, 2009)

Don't think the photograph of Yamaha Fazer, shown in the article, is of a bike which may cost just Rs.72,000/- (ex Showroom Delhi) because it has got front twin disc brakes (possibly even a rear disc brake), four cylinders, radiator and silencer below the seat. These features are normally available in foreign bikes costing at least Rs.5 lakhs and above.

This is old news and a stupid photograph ! the pic shows a bigger Fazer not sold in India market at all. See the exhaust pips? (I never saw 4 exhaust pipes for 150cc) and the front tyre size?? Easy to identify, this pic is lifted from the net, and obviously isnt the new fazer launched in India. Dont create news if you really dont have any idea of what you are writing. This is NOT the first time !!! GROW UP
