Yamaha Captures Larger Market Share

Yamaha automobiles are known for their excellence in quality and style in their automobiles. It has rebuilt a strong brand image in India in recent years. It has increased its sales in the first six months of 2008 and has doubled its market share from January to July 2008. Motorcylce industry in India has witnessed a growth of 21.8 percent in last six months while Yamaha has marked an increase of 34 percent from January to July 2008 as compared to same period last year.

“Yamaha is striving to carry forward the global Yamaha brand image in India. The increase in our sales figures validates our success in re-establishing ourselves as a company, which delivers high quality and high performance products. Our sales performance between January and July this year is a testimony to the success of our customer centric business philosophy. Month over month, Yamaha has been recording increasing sales, signifying the success of our new models launched in the current year. Our bikes are doing extremely well in the market,” says delighted Pankaj Dubey, Division Head, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha India.

He further added that the company has opened new lifestyle stores in Delhi and Pune along with strengthening its dealer network. The new Yamaha model YZF-R15 has gained 24.2 percent market share thereby gaining second position in Premium Motorcycle segment.
