Will Volkswagen Golf Come to India?
VW Golf also known as Golf VI is one of the most popular car models in the US and European market. It comes in two versions - Gold V and Golf VI which are quite popular across the world. Volkswagen is keeping roads to India open and plans to launch more models in the country.

It is aiming to launch Golf/Jetta platform in India and is looking for both Greenfield options and sourcing opportunities from host of vendors and suppliers. It plans the launch of new Passat in the country which may be followed by Golf and its variants. However, looking at the current heavy import duty structure in India on CBUs it seems unlikely that Golf may be launched too soon.

VW plans to launch a new car model every year starting with Passat sedan in September this year in B class car segment. Golf and its derivatives may be launched next year in the A class car segment. It also plans to launch notchback and hatchback models in small car segment to grab larger market share and increase volume sales.
