Volvo Plans C30 for India
The European car maker, Volvo is planning to introduce its model C30 in India. Volvo Car India shall makes its foray in India in association with Ford India and launch a sedan and sports utility vehicle in the price band of Rs 45 to 60 lakh.

Indian subsidiaries of Ford and Volvo shall be planning a joint strategy where both shall work on a common platform. Volvo Car India shall be introducing its C30 and C70 models in India which shall share platform with Ford Focus and shall be launched next year.

According to the Managing Director of Volvo Car India, Paul de Voijs, the company shall be launching overall 6 models in India. It shall introduce V50 and V70 stations wagons along with C30, X60, XC70, and C70 which is a 2-door convertible.
Volvo Car India plans to sell 500 units in the first year of its launch. It currently has its dealerships in Chandigarh, Delhi and Mumbai. It shall be opening its new showrooms in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Jaipur. It shall have total 14 dealerships by 2009. It shall import its cars as completely built units and shall plan assembly of its models at a later stage.

The volvo c70 was expected to hit the Indian roads in the month of May but the launch is still in the box as according to various sources but we have reached the right end and there is no sign of any kind of launch so far. At this time, when everybody was hopeful to see Vovo C70, extending the plans to next year sound quite rhapsodical
