Volkswagen revealed its new 2011 VW Jetta sedan at the Detroit Auto Show. The car shares its platform with 2010 Golf model. The new VW Jetta hybrid concept vehicle called as the New Compact Coupe was unwrapped at the Detroit Auto Show. It features a hybrid-electric power train that promises to deliver 19.13 kmpl. This means the new hybrid vehicle will deliver better fuel efficiency than the existing 2010 VW Jetta Diesel model.

The hybrid model includes a 150-horsepower 1.4-liter TSI four-cylinder engine—with both direct injection and inter cooling and a small electric motor and a seven-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission. The new Compact Coupe is quoted to be capable of achieving top speed of 226 kmph and 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.

The NCC is designed to sit between the Scirocco and Passat CC in Volkswagen’s lineup and is expected to enter production later this year. Volkswagen intends to build the model in South America and will focus its sales in the US market.
