Two New Models from Royal Enfield Launched in Kerala
Kerala will now have two new models from Royal Enfield as the company has launched Classic 350 and Classic 500 in Kerala market priced at Rs. 1.07 lakh and Rs. 1.36 lakh respectively. "Royal Enfield has an extremely rich heritage of practical leisure motorcycling for over 100 years. We have more and more plans for the next year," said Shaji Koshy, Head, Sales and Marketing.
The Classic 500 model is powered by a single cylinder 500 cc unit-construction engine (UCE) supported by electronic fuel injection. Royal Enfield banks upon its retro looks combined with new age technology. “Blending yesteryear’s charm and today’s technology , the Classic is a tribute to the glorious machines of the past and is ready to roar into the future,’’ said Siddharth Lal, MD and CEO of Eicher Motors.
The company has doubled its investments in India. It has been growing and expanding at a steady rate of 15-18 percent even during the global meltdown. As the markets improve, Royal Enfield expects better sales volumes in the overseas markets. In Kerala, there is good market opportunity as nearly 350 units are sold annually. There is a waiting period of at least 6-8 weeks in the state.
