Two New Electric Scooters from UMC
Ultra Motor Company launched Ultra Fun and Ultra Astra, its two new electric scooters for the urban commuters in India. However, the company did not reveal the price of the scooters which have been especially designed and developed by team of international engineers to suit the urban needs.
Both the scooters are not designed for high speeds but more for city traffic. Since they are not capable of driving at high speeds, the driver does not need a license either. Ultra Fun scooter is targeted towards women riders and fittingly has light weight and less height. It is powered by 250KW motor and is a low speed scooter. Ultra Shakti is more robust with same 250KW motor but designed for hilly terrains. It is expected that the gearing of the scooter must be a little different to enable a smooth ride on rough terrains.
The company has not revealed any detailed technical specifications like charging time and expected range on full charge. It is expected that the scooter may not be powered by lithium ion batteries but a new generation battery, which makes it lighter and takes less charging time. However, the down side is that they may be definitely costlier than existing range of scooters in India.
