Two new high powered motorcycles are scheduled to be launched by Yamaha on 16th September in New Delhi. Both the bikes will be completely built units directly imported from Japan. “We will have the fastest bike in India and the riding experience is something Indian consumers have never experienced before,” Sanjay Tripathi, department head (Product Planning & Strategy) of India Yamaha Motor had said to a business daily more than a month back.
Earlier it was rumored that Yamaha is planning to launch higher capacity Fazer motorcycle in India, to take on the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi and Hero Honda’s soon-to-be-launched fuel injection variant of Karizma premium bike. However, the ‘Financial Chronicle’ cited a senior company representative that company denies to enter the 200-250cc segment in near future.
According to the reports, both the models will be limited edition variants of existing Yamaha models. The company aims to achieve a double digit sales growth figure this year. It intends to achieve 220,000 units sales figure for domestic market and 70,000 units in overseas market. The new models will be launched by a Bollywood celebrity whose name has not been disclosed so far.

And why would anybody inject mud and gravel into their engine? The 1700cc VMAX is for what? Dragging a bulldozer?
