TVS Motors Pulls Out of Electric Car Market
Just when every auto maker is planning to foray into the electric vehicle market, TVS Motors has decided to temporarily put the production of electric vehicles on hold owing to low demand in vehicles. It has also decided to postpone launches of its electric three-wheeler and its electric scooter Scooty Teenz which is the battery powered variant of TVS Scooty launched in April 2008.
"We have an electric three-wheeler, which we had planned to introduce but there is no market for such products. So we don't have any plans to launch it now," said TVS Motor Co Marketing President H S Goindi. He also added that the company is focusing more on its regular models of scooters and motorcycles owing to the lukewarm response from electric vehicle segment.
