Toyota Recall: Its Now Camry’s Nook Under the Axe

10 February, 2010, 10:10 IST by Payal Pathak

Toyota now plans to recall 7300 Camrys owing to the brake defect in the models. The brake fluid in Camrys can leak if the problem is not fixed making it more difficult for the driver to stop the car. Toyota has already recalled 437,000 Prius and Lexus models amongst the 9 million cars that have been affected worldwide.

Toyota filed a document with US Authority National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stating that it has discovered that the steering hose is too long which may rub against a tube on the left rear brake which may lead to wearing of the tube and spilling of braking fluid.

Toyota also stated that it is inspecting the steering complaints in Corolla too but no major incident has occurred on roads. The government stated that it is standard procedure and no official investigation has opened so far. The models affected at 2009 and 2010 models of Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla. "We have decided to recall as we regard safety for our customers as our foremost priority," the firm said.
