Toyota Motors is facing troubled times and its brand value is sailing through choppy waters. The company has already halted production and sales of eight out of 16 models in the US market. Now the recall extends up to China and Europe as well. With its troubles extending to new shores, Toyota needs some good news now.

“The recall itself is not that unusual, especially compared with what we’ve seen from other companies,” Daniel Schwarz, an auto analyst at Commerzbank in Frankfurt, said. “But what is damaging is that Toyota’s primary asset is its reputation for quality, and that will suffer.”

All models made by Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor, Toyota's joint venture with China FAW Group between March 19, 2009 and January 25, 2010, will be recalled by the company. These vehicles largely include 75,552 RAV4 models. Toyota’s three biggest markets – US, Europe and China are hit by the current scenario which spells trouble for the company and its sales figures apart from a serious dent in its brand value.
