Now here is the latest scoop. The new small car coming up at the Toyota pavilion at the Delhi Auto Expo has been spied. Here are the latest pictures that were clicked by an onlooker at the halls when the car is being readied for the upcoming auto show. The pictures do not reveal much but the car definitely looks like a strong competition to Maruti Swift.

Toyota Etios has been specifically designed for the emerging markets. The car had been codenamed at EFC or Entry Family Car during its development cycle. The model being showcased at the Delhi Auto expo is nearly 90 percent production ready model. Etios means “the origin of” and intends to spell a new chapter in the small car segment. The model is expected to come with 1.2L petrol engine with list of safety features and might be married to an automatic transmission and/or a CVT.

For all those who are expecting a small cheap car model and believing it to be nothing short of Daihatsu K-car, the teaser video defies all such prejudices. The Toyota Etios small car looks like a compact and small sedan model. The car definitely looks like giving a run for the money to Maruti Swift. Toyota has also announced that this will be the global model which means that this model may replace Toyota Vios globally or may emerge at next generation Toyota Vios.
