Toyota Corolla Altis CNG Model in India
Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched the CNG variant of its popular sedan model Toyota Corolla at dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and NCR. The company had introduced the model at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The CNG kits will be fitted in the car at the dealerships itself. Thus, there are no changes in the car or its interiors but the CNG cylinder occupies at least one-fourth space of the 475 liter boot space. The model will be Rs. 80,000 more expensive than the petrol model. The CNG kits will be available at other dealerships soon throughout the country.
“Toyota is an environment conscious company committed to the cause of nurturing and protecting nature in its myriad forms. With CNG having established itself as an eco-friendly, reliable and economic fuel, TKM is pleased to announce CNG-powered Corolla Altis in India. This is yet another step in our efforts to make the environment more inhabitable,” said company spokesperson.
The CNG model of Toyota Corolla Altis is powered by 5-speed manual VVT-i 4cylinder 16-valve 1.8-litre petrol engine that delivers 132 bhp power and 17.3Kg of Torque. The CNG model will have the latest Sequential Injection System combined with its own ECU that will deliver best fuel economy without compromising on quality or efficiency of the vehicle.
