Toyota clocks an impressive 20 percent jump in sales in August 2012

Please fill your name and email ID to get our daily auto news mailer.Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indo-Japanese joint ventured automaker, has announced to have clocked an impressive sales growth of 19.83 percent in the month of August this year. As per the monthly sales report, the Indian auto market has provided a tremendous response to its bestselling Etios series and Innova and Fortuner in the SUV segment.

The sales recorded in August 2012 stands at 13,995 units as compared to the sale of 11,679 units scored in the concerned month last year.
While speaking of the sales volume attained in August 2012, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director – Marketing, quoted, "We have registered a growth this month based on good sales of Etios, Innova and Fortuner. We launched the All New Camry last month and have received an overwhelming response with 111 orders. We have dispatched 60 units last month."
Since the utility vehicle segment is currently witnessing a penchant from the Indian buyers, the sales figures for Toyota Innova were 6,439 units registering a surge by 50 percent as compared to the sale of 4,303 units sold in August 2011. Even the sales of Toyota Fortuner witnessed a jump of 44 percent from 897 units in August last year to 1,289 units scored in the last month.
The hot selling Etios series totalled a growth of 3 percent from 5,524 units in August last year to 5,698 units sold in the corresponding month this year.
Even the Toyota Camry, was capable of drawing a sale of 60 units in the last month rising by 76 percent from 34 units delivered in the same month in 2011.
