Top-end variant of Ford Classic sedan being offered at a rebated price

The American auto giant, Ford has come up with a rebated price of the top-end variant of its entry-level sedan, Classic. The sedan can be now picked up at a price, which has been reduced by Rs. 70,000. Stating the position of the new variant, Vice-President, Marketing, Anurag Mehrotra, said, “The new variant 'Titanium' of the Ford Classic sedan will replace the previously existing top-end option 'SXi'. The new variant comes with nine new features.”
This new Titanium variant of the Classic sedan comes with a price tag of Rs. 6.86 lacs for the petrol version and Rs. 7.82 lacs for the diesel car. However, the Classic Sxi was offered with a tag of Rs. 7.56 lacs for the petrol model, whereas the diesel model was priced at Rs. 8.5 lacs. The Ford Classic is the cut-price variant of its previous model with Fiesta been dropped from its moniker to avoid any sort of confusion with the new Fiesta, which was introduced back in 2011. The slash in price of the model has been possible because of the high localisation level, which stands at 85 per cent. Another major factor behind the reduced price being the components of features like Bluetooth, which are used in existing Figo are also installed in the new model.
The changes in the Titanium variant includes a Bluetooth equipped stereo system with speed sensing volume controls and a beige interior trim, which renders a capacious feeling to the passenger cabin. Considering its exteriors, the car comes with a new set of alloy wheels, body coloured rear view mirrors and an all-new black polished grille in the front. However, the company has retained the powertrain from the older model, namely 1.6 litre Duratec petrol and 1.4 litre TDCi Duratorq diesel engine. While, the former boasts of one of the best mileage figure offered by a petrol car at 21.27 kmpl, the latter offers an unexpected mileage of 32.38 kmpl. The new model will compete with the likes of Maruti Swift DZire, Toyota Etios, Chevrolet Aveo and the Hyundai Accent in Indian auto market.
President and Managing Director (MD), Ford India, Michael Boneham, said, “We have been listening to our customers to offer a value proposition with smart technologies and best-in-class features with the introduction of the Titanium variant in our Ford Classic range.”
