The World Records Academy has officially acclaimed Tata Nano to be the world’s cheapest car. The World Records Academy has posted on its website that India’s Tata Nano is the cheapest car in the world.

Tata Nano was revealed by Ratan Tata, MD, Tata Motors, this year at India’s biggest car show in New Delhi. This five-seater car with four doors will sell for Rs. 100,000 or $2500 from October this year. It shall have a 33 bhp 624 cc engine that would make the car ideal for city rides for a small family.

The car does not come with any frills or fancies which mean air conditioning, electric windows, power steering, etc would be completely absent. However, it shall have two deluxe models to choose from.

Tata plans to make 250,000 cars in the first phase of the project and would expand it capacity to the demand of one million cars in India itself. It shall also be exporting the car to other countries making India as its exporting hub.
