South Korea-based auto maker SsangYong Motor, now acquired by Mahindra & Mahindra, is expected to launch the Korando C in India. In a recent development, a brochure of the soon-to-be introduced car was leaked on the Internet, prompting a bevy of speculations from auto enthusiasts. It must be noted that SsangYong has been quite aggressive in the promotion of Korando C, coining a brand slogan saying – 'Urban Adventure'. During the marketing campaigns, SsangYong has sent across a message that describes the car as a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that features thrilling driving dynamics. In a recent interview, Yoo-il Lee, the Chief Executive Offer of SsangYong Motor Company, said, “The Korando C has been reborn as the New Korando C, with a new innovative style and greater appeal to drivers. I have no doubt that it will be an attractive choice for drivers looking for vehicles for both urban driving and outdoor leisure activities.”
The exteriors of facelifted Korando C comprise projector headlamps, LED position lights, body coloured grille and a redefined rear. It boasts of a C-shaped guide light and a bold Korando C tag, which are the most noteworthy features about the car's appearance. Sources reveal that SsangYong has given a makeover to the interiors to provide a sporty look and enhanced comfort levels. Featuring a classy non-glossy wood grain instrument panel, this car has a driver seat with forced ventilation to ensure complete comfort. Apart from this, a version with red leather seats will be also available.
SsangYong is expected to offer two options in terms of engine, one petrol and one diesel. Buyers in the international market have the option of choosing between automatic and manual transmission. The automatic transmission version is equipped with the Eco and Sport modes. As of now, no confirmation has been given by the car maker regarding the launch of the Korando C in India. However, given the current scenario and SsangYong's efforts to make a mark in the country, buyers could see the Korando C in India by next year.
