Specialized Vehicles from Tata Motors for Civic and Municipal Bodies

09 February, 2010, 10:10 IST by Payal Pathak

Tata Motors has always given suitable car models to Indian customers by specifically addressing their needs. Tata Indica has been one of the most successful models in passenger vehicle segment following models from Maruti Suzuki. Tata’s commercial vehicles like Tata trucks or small commercial vehicles like Tata Magic, Tata Ace have similarly won the market and customer satisfaction. Now Tata Motors has played yet another card that it has been holding up its sleeves. The company will now be making specific vehicles that will address needs of civic and municipal bodies like health and sanitization, solid waste collection and transportation, water supplies, town maintenance, etc.

Tata Motors will be building small and big vehicles that will cater to the needs of large cities as well as small towns with narrow lanes and smaller streets. So far Tata Motors has been catering to the demands from this sector by only supplying basic chassis to civic bodies and municipal corporations, contractors and civic bodies. Now it will be supplying full-developed vehicles that will cater to specific cleaning needs of towns and cities across the country.
