Small Car from Skoda in India
Skoda India intends to launch another small car in India in next three years. The company is planning to introduce a new small car that will be placed below Skoda Fabia which is its existing smallest hatchback model in the country. The new small car model will carry a price tag of about Rs. 4-5 lakh and compete with models like Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10 and the likes.
Skoda announced that the new small car model will have high degree of localization which will make car competitively priced, but will carry complete value for money. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants and will be manufactured at its existing Aurangabad unit.
Skoda intends to build the new car on its recently developed new platform which will roll out two new small car models – one for Volkswagen and one for Skoda. “We have aggressive plans for the Indian market and aim to emerge as a major player in the Indian automotive industry’s growth story,” said Reinhard Fleger, Member of the Board, Sales and Marketing, Skoda Auto.
