Mumbai, January 1, 2010: SkodaAuto India, a fully owned subsidiary of SkodaAuto a.s., Czech Republic, today announced a growth of 52 % in sales for the month of December 2009 over December 2008. SkodaAuto India’s total sales for December 2009 stood at 1113 units as against 732 units in December, 2008.

Speaking on the increase in sales figures for the month of December, Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Board Member, Sales and Marketing, SkodaAuto India said “We have witnessed a growth of 52% in sales for the month of December 2009 over 2008 and a three-digit jump of 102% in sales in the last 3 months (October – December) over the same period last year. The sales figures for Skoda since the launch of the all new Skoda Superb and the New Laura this year have surpassed our expectations. Mr. Ashutosh Dixit, Senior General Manager, Sales and Marketing, SkodaAuto India was equally delighted; he stated “Our expansion strategy is to create a strong authorized dealer network in India and enhance our customer support network. We aim to support our growing sales with adequate after-sales support and service functions. Currently our dealership network consists of 65 dealerships across India which will be increased to 75 dealerships by the end of 2010.
