Skoda To Produce More Fabia Models
Skoda Fabia was an instant success ever since it was launched in India. Now Skoda is planning to step up production numbers of Fabia. It intends to assemble more units at Volkswagen’s new Greenfield utility at Chakan near Pune. Skoda is aiming at around 10,000 Fabias next year along with clearing the backlog for Laura and Superb models.
Skoda will also increase localization of components in Fabia to make the car more competitive. It will not reduce the price of the car but will add more features to the model in order to make its more luring for its customers. Features like airbags and ABS will be added as standard features to the model.
“We now source components like wheels and horns for Fabia from local vendors and are looking at taking this up to over 50 per cent in the next two years. That will give us a definite cost advantage,” said Thomas Kuehl, member, board of directors (sales and marketing), Skoda India told reporters more than couple of months earlier.
Skoda Auto India is planning to increase its sales volumes for all its models including Fabia, Octavia, Laura and Superb. It will increase its capacity at its Aurangabad plant as well apart from using VW facility at Chakan.

Hi, Skoda Fabia is very reliable and manitenance problems are lesser. Also brakedown service/ pick up service is available from Skoda and hence maintenance wont be much of problem. Only thing is its bit expensive but justifies with brand value and quality.

Hello, I Faiyaz Gouhar, living in JAMSHEDPUR at JHARKHAND state. I've an query, now am using the SANTRO but keen intrested to switch to SKODA. But I don't have any experience of SKODA bcz all my family freinds & family are trusted and using either MARUTI or HUNDAI. If at Jamhedpur there is only one showroom and only one service centre at GHAMARIA which is 40 km away from MANGO where am living. SO is there any possibility to increase the nos. of service station at JAMSHEDPUR. regds, Faiyaz

Why only Fabia? Pl do the same with Laura too. I am feeling Laura is too expensive to buy and later to maintain. It's nice to see manufacturers started respecting customers money...!!
