Skoda to Launch Eight New Models In India

Skoda plans to launch eight new models in India in next five years. It had made debut in the Indian auto market with its popular model Skoda Octavia in the D segment of car market. Its hatchback model, Fabia is quite popular as a premium car in the small car segment. It introduced the Pump-Duse technology in India with its model Fabia.

Skoda now plans to bring more new models in India. It shall launch one new model every year. It currently aims to bring introduce another small car below Fabia price line of Rs. 3-5 lakh in the small car segment. Its SUV Yeti and Roomster are ready to be introduced in the country in next two years. It shall also roll out its new Superb in early 2009 which had been quite a success in Europe.

Skoda shall also launch new variants of its models and set new trends in customer care. Its variants shall cater to demands from various price brackets and offer more options to its customers. It currently has 56 dealers across India which would increase to 75 by the end of 2009. It has already doubled its capacity at its Aurangabad plant. It also plans to localise up to 50 percent in next three years and would be looking at sourcing local partners for the same.
