Skoda Fabia vRS at the Geneva Auto Show

Geneva Auto Show continues in full swing with new car models dazzling the visitors every day. Skoda unveiled its new Fabia vRS model in competition to Volkswagen’s new generation Polo GTI and Seat Ibiza which were also introduced at the Auto Show. The new VRS sports a 1.4-litre turbo- and supercharged petrol engine as the Ibiza and Cupra, it's good for 178bhp and a 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds.

The model comes with newly designed front bumpers, twin exhausts and rear diffuser making it look completely new as compared to old Fabia. The model showcased was in lime green colour but is available with contrasting roof colour – available in black, white or silver.

Skoda VRS

Skoda unveiled the hatchback version but stated that it will produce an estate version of Fabia vRS as well. Skoda also stated that its entire range of engines is Euro-5 compliant and offer improved CO2 emission and fuel economy in its existing range of products.

Audi unveiled its “near production ready” A8 hybrid model that is is equipped with Audi’s fully developed turbocharged, direct-injection 2-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine, linked to a 33-kilowatt electric motor (or 44 horsepower) via a wet clutch.

Toyota revealed its upgraded new RAV4 model which is a hot selling model, especially in the Chinese market. Toyota did not divulge details of the car but it is expected to be powered with a new fuel-efficient 2.0-litre petrol engine with revamped interiors with more equipments inside. In Europe the new RAV4 goes on sale later in 2010 and will be available in 2WD and 4WD versions, powered by a choice of one petrol and two diesel engines.
