Road Traffic Information System from Volvo India
Volvo cars in India shall have the Road Traffic system installed in its cars to guide the driver through the city traffic to unfamiliar destinations. This system shall be available at an additional cost of Rs. 1.5 lakh which shall guide the passenger to predetermined places through the hazy traffic on the roads.
"The RTI is an important infotainment unit in Volvo Cars globally and we are very happy to introduce it in India as well. The user friendly system will take the worry out of driving by helping customers navigate through unknown routes, everyday traffic disruptions or even finding their way to a tourist destination in a new city. In short, it will be the dependable guide for Volvo customers on Indian roads,'' says Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo India.
The system offers 6.5 inch wide screen display which pops up at the touch of the button. The information is stored in a hard disk in the car which communicated with the satellite to guide the driver. Moreover, a female voice guides the driver with driving instructions before the next manoeuvre. The navigations system also helps with list of restaurants, tourist attractions, hotels and Volvo car dealers.
