Our reader has also done the testdrive of the car and would like to add the following:
'ritz is good pick up and good mileage also - i think approximately diesel 22kmpl and petrol approximately 19 kmpl. It is a good drive with better visibilty and more space for front and rear seats boot space is also excellent.
I think that Ritz is competion of i20. The engine cc of ritz is 1197 cc and ps is 87@6000rpm. The car has good ground clearence. The car's turning radius is 4.7m. The car is avaliable in 8 colours and totally different colours.'

Ritz is designed perfectly for city driving. Tall Stance. Commanding road views. Light Steering. Easy clutch and gear action. Short turning radius. Easy parking. Great mileage of 18 kmpl. What else u need? Ritz has got all!

The paculiar back shape resembles to a vintage car which new generation likes. Also the glass area at rear side is less, which is preffered by some customers for more privacy. The angle of rear windscreen is suitable to avoid dust accumulation and water particles on the wind screen.

With the launch of Ritz Maruti Suzuki is offering great competition for cars like i20,Indica Vista etc.The main thing that makes Ritz Successfull should be the power, mileage, Competitive pricing. With the first look of Ritz it does give impression of enlarged version of A-star.The rear roof line is a simplified form of Innova. The bonnet position has been raised a little bit. The headlight size increased considerbly. The interiors seems to be well designed for space and hence comfort of driving.Thw whit edial instrument remainds of a watch. Rear portion seems like lot of effort has been put to make rear portion compact and attractive. Resulted in maximum usage of red lights In overall Ritz would win points over interior space, comfort, power of engine and competitive pricing rather than body style. The Maruti Suzuki Ritz is yet to be displayed (Scheduled of May 15th ). The comments are based on the appearence from Photos and expected power and price range of Ritz.We will provide detailed review once Ritz is displayed at showrooms.

I think the Vista is a far superior vehicle...both in terms of space and style. It has the latest engines as well. The Ritz has a poor appearance.

Sheeba you are absolutely right about the design team taking a vacation.....

I understand the boot space is much less(only 170 lts) as compared to comparable brands of competitors and also smaller than with comparable cars of Maruti.I would have thought that Maruti would have considered this while designing the dimensions of this car. They should realize that in India that boot space is an important criteria in respect of Indian households who tend to carry all and syndry in the boot, especially on long trips.

rear is worst, I think design head has to think all the angles of customers view, rear is awkward look

As claimed if at all the Ritz gives 22kpl then it is a perfect car as tourist taxi .

I didn't like the rear shape of the car. If Maruti has introduced this car to compete with i20 ,then certainly i20 will overcome ritz so far as look and space is concerned.I dont think that this car will be succesful to capture the market.

I want to cancel the test drive for the ritz, already applied, but sorry did'nt like the look. Santro old model is much better

The design engineers of this car need a vacation to get some fresh air. The backside of the Ritz seems like a truck just rammed into it! Hope the performance is good to make up for the eyesore in exteriors.

what the hell is happening to maruti after coming out with cars like the swift and the sx4 which are pretty cars they come out with the absolute opposite with rubbish like the ritz and A star, both the cars have backsides which would give one a head ache and the front of the cars just done gel with the rear.lets hope the engines are screamers otherwise these machines are doomed.

@ashvin - "All and all maruti is going to rip off indian customers ,who are dumb anyways". Would you by any chance happen to be an *Indian customer* as well :) ? Anyway, jokes apart - Competitive with i20 - in your dreams, guys ! The i20 is a class apart and at best the Ritz/Splash comes in Santro territory.. Just as a FYI...I drive neither Maruti/Hyundai !

the ritz is just alright, nothing too good about it, i read a lot of reviews from UK (where its called splash) and most of them say its just a tolerable car. The worst thing is the suspension which are toooo soft and the rear passenger gets a bumpy ride even at low speeds in the city. All and all maruti is going to rip off indian customers ,who are dumb anyways

Car looks good and competative with i20. But its rear deasign!!!!! I did not like it. Front is curve shape and rear just like a bus! At least Ritz rear shape should be like Swift. Engine is good, I heard about it. I feel rear design will be a big problem for Ritz. Is it a european look? I dont think so
