Renault has decided to go on its own in the Indian market after snapping ties with Mahindra and Mahindra. The company will now introduce its sedan model Fluence next year in the Indian market, said a company official. "We will introduce the first sedan Fluence by 2011... and a SUV Koleos by 2012-13," said Renault India Country General Manager and Managing Director Marc Nassif.
The sedan model will be built at the company's manufacturing unit near Chennai in association with Nissan. The company said that they are working hard to ensure that the cars are localized properly so that the manufacturing costs remain low.

Renault-Nissan are working seriously to increase localisation of components in their cars up to 80 percent. Recently launched Nissan Micra has up to 60 percent localisation in the model. Renault is also planning to introduce its SUV model Koleos in India but it will be imported as a completely built unit rather than being assembled locally.
