However, he refused to divulge any further information regarding the new launch. Nassif added that France based automotive manufacturer has already attained 60 per cent of localisation, which will be further increased to 80 per cent with all the products in its portfolio. According to him, Renault has already invested a huge amount of money on their production tools. As per the company claims, Renault Duster has already garnered 4,000 bookings from all over the country within a day of its launch.

Highlighting the forecast which stated India to be the third largest automobile market by year 2020, Nassif added that there is ample scope for healthy competition here and only the best product will thrive in the market. The car maker is already in the process of opening its 55th authorised outlet towards the end of June, 2012 and by the end of 2013, Renault would introduce its 100th dealership in India. The product portfolio of Renault in Indian market includes Fluence, Koleos, Pulse and the recently launched Duster.

Nassif stated that the manufacturing facility of Renault located at Chennai will start shipping vehicles to UK by the year end. Later, the company would consider exporting its vehicles to other countries like South Africa. On being probed about planned investment by the car maker for its Chennai production facility, Nassif clarified that Renault has planned to invest a princely sum of Rs. 4,500 crores by February, 2015. Renault’s aggressive proceeding in Indian market to gain a decent share with the new launch scheduled for diwali; car buyers have one more reason to rejoice after the launch of Duster.
