Renault Fluence Electric

12 April, 2010, 10:10 IST by Payal Pathak

Renault showcased its premium sedan model Fluence at the recent Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The company has decided to go solo in the Indian market after its tough joint venture in India with Mahindra and Mahindra. Renault Fluence and Megane are the two new models that are India bound and will be available by end of 2010 or early 2011.

Renault recently unveiled its electric range of cars including Renault Fluence Electric, reports Autocar. The company will retail the model presently only in the UK market. The standard model is manufactured in Turkey where Megane was manufactured earlier, says Autocar. That standard model will be on sale in Turkey, Russia and Romania only.

The electric model will be built in Israel where it will be trialled as well. as part of a tie-in with Project Better Place, which is developing electric car charging systems. The model is expected in Europe in 2011.
