The company has announced Vijayawada as the launch venue as the city has positioned itself as the major market for Renault badged vehicles.

The Renault Duster is intended for the modern SUV enthusiasts that is designed to encompass highly muscular stance combined with modernised comfort and safety attributes priced in the range of Rs. 7 lakhs to Rs. 12 lakhs for the petrol and diesel variants, respectively.
Though the automaker has branched out its Indian portfolio in various segments, its current model line-up comprising of Koleos SUV, Pulse hatchback and premium sedan, Fluence has received mediocre response in the Indian market. The company is confident that the robust design aesthetics backed up with advanced technology at competitive price will surely enable Renault Duster to make a significant mark in the SUV segment.
Mr. Marc Naseef, Managing Director, Renault India Pvt. Ltd. commented that the company is targeting to attain 20 times higher sales than the sales of 1500 cars recorded in 2011. The company is currently operating the manufacturing unit located in Chennai and will be deliberating with the government for laying down a stable policy on fuel types and its prices in a bid to regulate the production process.
At present, the Indian economic conditions have compelled the company to focus on diesel car production. Renault India is also aiming to expand its dealer distribution network to 100 outlets by the end of this year.

Yes ,I agree with you.And with no 4x4 varient,Duster wont attract much to the true SUV buyers. Safari storme would be more sensible choice if Tata keeps its price sub 10 lacs.It has lots of new features plus 7 seater.
