Production at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant to remain halted for three days

Please fill your name and email ID to get our daily auto news mailer.The country’s largest vehicle maker Tata Motors has halted the production at its Jamshedpur plant for three days from today onwards. The decision has been taken amidst the 'prevailing economic conditions'. Almost 10,000 employees of the company will be affected by this three day closure.
Speaking on the matter, Tata Motors spokesman P J Singh said, "A block closure has been announced from June 28 to 30 in the Jamshedpur plant. He added, "We are market driven company that is why we have taken the decision. The block closure was taken in view of the quarterly closing as we cannot pile up inventory."
The company has announced the same with the consent of the employees following a meeting on Tuesday. The production at this plant has dipped considerably in past two month at this plant. As per Telco Workers Union General Secretary Chandrabhan, the production is almost negligible since June 23.
