Porsche 911 Series Coming to India
German luxury sports car maker Porsche is planning to introduce the new 911 series of its cars in the Indian market. Porsche stated that it will be showcasing its 911 Turbo S and 911 Turbo S Cabriolet at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year. It will bring these cars to Indian market as well. The 911 Turbo S is expected to cost Rs. 1.87 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and 911 Turbo S Cabriolet will cost above Rs. 2 crores.
Turbo S is a six-cylinder boxer engine boosted by two exhaust gas turbochargers with variable turbine geometry. It comes exclusively with the seven-speed PDK double-clutch gearbox and accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in just 10.8 seconds. It is capable of achieving top speed of 315 kmph. Although the car offers better performance than 911 Porsche Turbo, nevertheless, it does not consume as much fuel as its predecessor making it one of the most fuel efficient sports car.
"The models can be ordered (in India) today but worldwide deliveries will begin in May," said Porsche company official.
