Official Pictures of Mercedes SLS Revealed

Here are the official pictures of the new Mercedes SLS supercar. The Mercedes SLS goes on sale from 2010 with a hefty price tag of nearly Rs. 1.24 crores. The new SLS pulls design cues from legends in Mercedes’ past, but the new car gets inspiration from the 300SL that was the basis for the original SLR. The power will come from a 6.2-litre AMG V8. It produces 563bhp and 479lb ft of torque.

Mercedes SLS will feature first ever seven-speed double clutch gearbox that will power the rear wheels. The gearbox comes with 4 different shift functions. According to Mercedes, the new SLS model will attain 100kmph from standstill in 3.8sec and 198 kmph in less than 10 secs. Its carbon ceramic discs - 390mm in diameter up front and 360mm at the rear - provide stopping power. Eight airbags will add to its safety features and the interiors are full of leather, aluminum and carbon fire.

Likely the most popular colour choice will be Alubeam Silver, although Mercedes will offer the new SLS in Syvanite Grey, Alanite Grey and a beautiful deep metallic red (as seen in the photos).
