New Yamaha RX100 May be Coming Soon

For all those bike lovers who had been waiting for something new and exciting to happen from Yamaha, here is the latest news! Yamaha is actively working on its plans to re-introduce a new model of Yamaha RX 100 in the Indian auto market.
“We are working on the lines of the RX 100 and are looking to have something of a similar product for India. It will be early to talk about it but we will come out with a product there,” said Pankaj Dubey, national business head, India Yamaha Motors.
The company is working on its 4-stroke version of RX 100 that would be more environmentally friendly. Yamaha intends to keep the original vintage style and design without altering the model too much. Yamaha intends to gain its top position in the Indian market. Thus, the new RX 100 model is ready to foray into the Indian market to generate sales volumes and create a golden era for the company once again.
Currently, the Indian two wheeler market is dominated by Hero Honda, Bajaj, TVS and other players and Yamaha plays a minor role.

I always had a wish to buy a yamaha rx100. Its a heavenly news that the yamaha is re-launching RX100. I go nuts every time i see that bike on road. Please do it as fast. I'm ready to book in anytime it comes to market. Please let us know the expected time of launch at least. So, that we shall control our impatience for its launch till its launched.

Its the most amazing thing that can happen to the bike market in India. Please maintain the original model of RX100 without much change and with metallic mud guards. I will wait for the rise of YAMAHA RX 100 4S ..... and that original sound...Vroooom.....Vroooom. Thanks.

Just waiting for RX100 to come back. Either 2 stroke or 4 stroke. Even today there is no bike equivalent to RX. I drove RX for 18 years. Now driving other bikes and experiencing what really I'am missing by not driving RX. NO BIKE LIKE RX. You may have misunderstandings wit any body in this world but not with RX. People cheat. RX will never ditch you. Even in lat night 2 pm also if you ask RX100 to for going out, it will be just ready poor thing, without any hesitation and getting itself started just in 1 kick.

i'm sure the value for rx100 is not for its styling n size, as mention by previous bloggers but, it engine which rock any thing ahead of HisWAY.Any way i'll be egarly waithing to see,if the company has plan for something of its like sure they know the greastness of the 1987 RX-100.PRESENTLY I OWN RD350/RX-100/YZF-R15/B-500

It's a dream waiting to convert to reality, YAMAHA RX100 back on Indian roads, WOW!
Only hope, with the 4 stroke model, the original thrill factor & pickup is not compromised in addition to the design aspect mentioned by Mr Pankaj Dubey. With this news, also many old 2 strokes can be remade to its original once the original parts are in the market. Sunil (May 14, 2010)

If anyone really looking forward towards this bike then surely u gonna be disappointed.By just keeping the name as RX100 or maintaining the bodyline doesn't create much difference. It will be same as other bikes in market. No fun at all... It will never reach upto that level in terms of respect and demand as of the Original RX100.

It is a welcome news.But by only appearance if the potential RX100 is going to be then let Yamaha think over once again.It should atleast have some characteristics of the pocket rocket(The two stroke RX100).4 Stroke is the requirement of time in view of emission norms.The bore and stroke may be revised to sqeeze more power from the 4 stroke motor.
