New Porsche 2010 911 Porsche Turbo Faster
Porsche claims that its new Porsche 2010 911 Turbo is 10 seconds faster than its predecessors on the famous road of the Nurburgring. It has posted a lap time of 7 minutes and 39 seconds on the Nurburgring. That time beats out the last 911 Turbo by about ten seconds. Despite the huge improvement, the new 911 Turbo’s lap falls short of the Nissan GT-R’s best time of 7:28, set by former F1 driver Toshio Suzuki. However, the model definitely marks significant upgrades to output, handling and performance.
The new model is powered by 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that pumps out around 500 horsepower and up to 6636 kg-cm of torque. This is 20hp more than the 3.6-liter engine that currently powers the existing 911 models.
The new model features dual-clutch gear box instead of earlier model’s automatic gear box. It saves 25kg of weight and the new model now has a 309 hp per tonnes power-to-weight ratio. The new Porsche 911 Turbo is lighter by 1600 kilos and clocks 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. It is priced at Rs. 61.08 lakhs and shows fuel economy is improved, with consumption reduced from 12.7 l/100km to 11.7 l/100km.
